THE OLFACTION

Inspired by YSL’s sleek, empowering pea coat, CABAN reveals the innate elegance and sophistication of a simple olfactory shape, built around warm, lush tonka bean absolute. Precision-tailored by the Master Perfumer Carlos Benaïm, the precious material’s almond, caramel, hay and tobacco facets define an olfactory silhouette as assertive yet cozy as the sailor’s woolen coat.

Run through with boldly woody tones, this fascinating tonka is textured with bright spices. Airy, fresh, and electric with a fruity facet, pink pepper absolute reflects light like carved golden buttons on a couture YSL caban. Tactile and sleekly sophisticated, CABAN embodies a modern look with a raw yet enveloping impact.

THE INSPIRATION

It was the very first piece Yves Saint Laurent presented under his name, in 1962. Opening his fashion show, worn with white shantung pants and mules, the thick wool double-breasted overcoat worn by sailors to ward off the cold and the rain -- the caban, or pea coat – was reinvented as a couture garment. And paved the way for Yves Saint Laurent’s signature style, which borrowed from menswear to make women feel comfortable and confident. Turning the simplicity of a practical garment into the ultimate form of refinement, YSL’s caban has shown its range throughout the years, asserting a marine-inspired look or nonchalantly worn over a sleek cream satin gown… The Caban is more than just a single garment; it's a symbol of the YSL style, its clean lines and structured shape contributed to the distinctive YSL timelessly sophisticated silhouette.

YSL Caban Eau de Parfum belongs to the amber spicy fragrance family, distinguished by a blend of spicy notes, resinous undertones, and warm woods. The scent opens with vibrant pink pepper, black pepper, and elemi, transitions into elegant olibanum and osmanthus, and settles with sandalwood, tonka bean, and patchouli, creating a luxurious, profound, and captivating composition suitable for both men and women.
The three-layered fragrance structure is as follows:

Top notes: Pink Pepper Oil, Black Pepper Oil, Elemi Oil.
Middle notes: Olibanum Resinoid, Osmanthus.
Base notes: Sandalwood Oil, Tonka Bean, Patchouli Heart.

Returns & Refunds Policy

1. Return Conditions

1.1 Refusal upon delivery: Upon receipt, please inspect the exterior of the package (box condition, packaging, seal) before signing. The carrier does not support open-box inspection upon delivery. You may refuse the delivery if:

The packaging or shipping box is torn, dented or damaged;
The seal has been broken or is not intact;
The number of packages does not match your order.

1.2 Issues found after opening the package: As open-box inspection is not available upon delivery, you may request a return or exchange for issues that can only be identified after opening the package, including:

Manufacturing defects;
Wrong product or shade delivered compared to your order;
Missing quantity, accessories or gifts with purchase;
Product damaged inside the package.

Request timeline and method: Please contact Customer Service within 5 business days from the date of successful delivery, with available proof (photos or video of the shipping label, packaging condition and the unboxing process).

Non-eligible cases: Apart from the cases stated in sections 1.1 and 1.2, YSL does not accept returns or exchanges, including:

Products that have been unsealed and used;
Requests for personal reasons (product not suitable, change of mind after purchase);
Requests submitted after the 5-business-day period stated in section 1.2.

2. Refund Method

Refunds will be issued to your original payment method within 45–60 business days from the date the delivery is refused or the return request is confirmed.
